Alyssa and Maria's grand adventures so far

Wondering how the kids are holding up now that we're 10 days into or trip and a week from heading home?

For Alyssa it seems to be all taken in stride.  If we go somewhere, she's excited and wants to know more about it and then will proceed to make her own fun.  If we relax and hang out at the B&B (now that we are in Liedolo) then she's happy to do that too - making rainbow loom bracelets, reading her book, watching Italian cartoon, kicking the soccer ball around, playing with the dog, etc.

For Maria it is obviously a little bit different - she wants to be entertained and this is understandable at age 7.  She is more apt to try to speak Italian, is much less shy and will gab away, LOVES playing with Maggie the dog here at the B&B and I think is conspiring to kidnap the dog.  Maria asks constantly when we'll see new cousins, when will we go to Venice, when will we see the "falling tower of pizza", etc.

Unfortunately for her, we have not yet met any of the younger cousins - a disappointment for all of us.  But I think there will be a breakthrough today (Thursday) as we'll go visit our cousin Elida, Anton and their families (these are my grandmother Maria's siblings children - thus my dad's 2nd cousins if I have that formula correct - or for those of you who know my family at home - it would be how Alyssa and Maria are related to my bother and sister's children).

The girls have been enjoying the travel books we put together for them - each has pages with activities for the various places we've visited.  Alyssa has really enjoyed sending postcards to her friends.  I think each is up to about 4 postcards with more to come for sure.  They've enjoyed getting souvenirs, sampling the foods (Alyssa ate risotto with veggies yesterday, Maria had a pasta with a creamy cheese sauce and asparagus yesterday - although she had no clue it was asparagus and we won't say anything).

Its been fun watching them use their cameras -  Alyssa mostly.  Maria wants me or Jule to take the pictures.  So I thought I would post a few of the photos Alyssa has taken from our trip.  So here is Europe through the eye of Alyssa:
