Swedes and loud ass cars

I really am enjoying Sweden, and in particular the area around Gothenburg.  The folks are nice - the city itself is very clean and safe and easy to manage.  While there are a lot of restaurants of all kinds, few have offered Swedish meatballs which is odd, but I did find one today and  you bet I ordered them... GOOD!

We don't see any souvenir type shops and have barely any time to poke around.  Even the Gothia Cup merchandise leaves much to be desired... one style of shirt/tank top/sweat shirt and that is pretty much it.

So the weather has been for the most part very nice.  Sunday it rained a lot and was quite cold, but Monday and Tuesday the temperature was perfect - the only issue was the strong winds.  Today was much warmer with less wind but probably around the mid-70s for a high.

As such we have been happy to keep windows open in our apartment during the day and even to some extent at night (at least in my bedroom I enjoy the cooler air at night until I get too cold).
Sounds absolutely ideal considering how hot it is a home right now..yes?

Well, yes... except one thing.  Swedes apparently love very LOUD cars - any kind that they can make loud.  So while the motorcycle revving happens quite often and is quite loud, there seems to be an infatuation with loud mufflers and a mean sounding car.  What is also becoming apparent is that these loud Swedish cars enjoy utilizing the street right outside of our apartment from 9pm until past midnight.  And they rev the engines and they drive back and forth and it gets annoying.

Why Swedes?  Why this as an infatuation?  You were so nearly perfect until this noise thing came up??  What gives?
